Qualifications have now wrapped up and the day 2 action did not disappoint! It was a busy night out on the competition floor on with Men’s Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bars.
The strong international field stunned crowds with Jorge Vega Lopez qualifying 1st on the men’s vault with an impressive 14.666, Australian James Bacueti close behind with 14.616.
While fan favourite Epke Zonderland flew into top spot on the Horizontal Bar with 14.266, Mitchell Morgans, Milad Karimi, Hidetaka Miyachi and Tyson Bull making up the top 5.
Australia’s beam queen Emma Nedov continued her strong performances on the apparatus with a 13.100. American Jade Carey wowed with her floor routine to round out the competition and secured top spot with 14.366 with Australians Georgia Godwin (13.433) and Breanna Scott (12.733) also making the floor final.
There was a close competition on the parallel bars had the final rankings come down to the wire, Japan’s Yusuke Tanaka taking out 1st and local favourite Mitchell Morgans rounding out the qualified eight with 13.600
The much-anticipated finals will take place on Sunday from 3pm.
